Sondela Nature Reserve & Spa Makhato Lodges was a delightful weekend escape just a short drive from Johannesburg, nestled within the tranquil bush. Our unit, Makhato no 11, was perfectly situated away from the bustle, providing us with a peaceful retreat and stunning views from the first-floor patio. I particularly enjoyed our evenings by the boma and the convenience of the fully equipped kitchen for our meals, which catered seamlessly to our relaxing getaway. While the awkward wash basins in the bathrooms were a minor inconvenience, the clean and comfortable ambiance made it a truly enjoyable stay-ideal for reconnecting with nature and each other amidst the wildlife that visited us!
